The Peymouton is a brilliant example of the value that can be found on Bordeaux’s right bank. It’s from the same estate as Château Laroque, from vineyards that have not been classified as Grand Cru Classé. It’s crunchy and finely judged, with a wonderfully classical profile, grippy yet refined tannins, and a very long, mineral finish. It’s utterly delicious, and a real bargain.
